Last Christmas I asked my mom for a gift certificate to Pearl Paints -- a local art shop -- so that I could buy some new supplies. Instead my mom did some research and found a great art studio in the area and paid for me to start weekly art classes (oh, and she gave me the supplies as well). Something that had only ever been my private dabblings into art turned into a love of art that I could never have expected. Mr. Patterson (my art instructor) has shown me how to express myself through drawing and water colors and has provided a safe haven for me to escape to on a weekly basis for two hours that HAVE to be devoted to art without the interruptions of life.
This parakeet is one of my earlier water colors ... I'll share more with you as I remember to bring them to work and scan them.
