Professional .... and paid, Artist

Anybody who knew my disdain for art class in high school will find the irony in this... I have just sold my first piece of art. I was asked to do something similar to the piece shown in my previous post. I asked my dad if this made me an artist and his response was that it simply changed my status from an artist to a professional artist.
